Shoot vertical and go to Cannes

Created in 1986, Nespresso pioneered the portioned coffee segment and has been continuously innovating to deliver the highest quality coffee experiences to consumers worldwide. From the very beginning, the Nespresso concept has revolutionised the way people enjoy their coffee and has shaped our global coffee culture.

But none of this would be possible without extraordinary talent. Nespresso seeks out people who think differently, who are prepared to go further, push boundaries and demonstrate creativity in what they do.

For this reason, Nespresso has supported or created platforms that recognize outstanding creativity and talent from the Cannes Film Festival and “La Semaine de la Critique” or Berlin Film Festival and Berlinale Talents.

Storytelling is part of our brand DNA and we understand the power of immersing an audience into a story, and believe that there’s no greater medium for storytelling than film.

Nespresso is proud to support film events, with a focus on young talent in particular in the area of innovation in film. All our sponsorship activities focus on Talent, whether that's emerging or established talents. Talents that inspire, educate, mentor & engage.

In 2016, Nespresso has decided to pursue the discovery and expansion of the extraordinary even further, and for first time will support the 2016 Berlinale Film Festival with an emphasis on Berlinale Talents, a six-day creative platform for emerging filmmakers. Nespresso Talents 2016 is a platform that helps encourage talented young filmmakers, and enables them to reach a wider audience.

«We believe that your everyday moments can be transformed into something extraordinary. These indefinable, incomparable and meaningful moments that add that little something, that uplift your everyday».

Explore and share your extraordinary.

This may sound like just another brief for a short film contest...But there is one big difference. Your film needs to be shot vertically, breaking the convention of the usual viewing experience.

An international jury will judge the works and the selected videos will be announced and authors will be invited at  Cannes.

You can tell us any story you want, in any way. There are only two rules:

1 – Be original. It should be representative of your unique creativity. It's time to prove who you are, how you see this extraordinary world, and how you want to change it with your videos...

2 – Format 9:16.

Yes it is NOT 16:9 but 9:16. These films are required in VERTICAL format. More and more people are watching video vertically on their mobile devices and Nespresso Talents will be one of the first international contests to embrace, validate and drive this new aesthetic.

These 2 aspects will allow you to explore the extraordinary in your video by using an innovative format to reshape the aesthetic and narrative rules of filmmaking.

You have the potential to change the landscape of film in new and exciting ways that no one can predict.
